Ala Savashevich (b. 1989) graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in Minsk and the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Currently she is a PhD student at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She works in the fields of installation, photography, video, and performance art. She has participated in exhibitions in Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Georgia, and other countries. Ala Savashevich currently lives and works in Wrocław.
In her practice, she uses a variety of materials and creates objects in different formats. Her works address issues of identity, memory, trauma, as well as questions of gender and corporeality within social and political contexts.
