“Meditation XI”

Roma Hałat, fot. Aleksander Hałat, photo courtesy of the artist’s family The work Meditation XI belongs to the Triads cycle, which Roma Hałat described as follows: “Each work consists of three sides, layers stacked on top of each other, with a beginning, middle, and end. A triad is formed. The cut-out rhythms form an opening through which fragments of the second and third sides appear. Chance has it what will be revealed to us. The Triads’ inner layers are always hidden. They are a mystery – like a human being […].”*

The title of the work alludes to the creative process, which, due to its repetitive nature that demands focus and precision while incorporating an element of unpredictability, induces an almost meditative state.
