“1280” is a work dedicated to political prisoners in Belarus. The photo features the artist wearing a self-designed dress adorned with portraits of 1280 individuals detained by Lukashenko’s regime. This photograph is an on-camera reenactment of a public protest. In 2021, Shostak won the Polityka Passport award and attended the gala in the showcased outfit. She concluded her speech at the ceremony with a minute of shouting, as opposed to a minute of silence, in honor of the repression victims.
