Jędrzej Bieńko, Untitled, 2024,
acrylic on linen canvas, 180 x 220 x 4,5 cm,
phot. courtesy of the WHOISPOLA Gallery Jędrzej Bieńko paints with an airbrush on raw linen stretched over a painting frame. This choice of material evokes associations with medieval canvases while simultaneously alluding to the aesthetics of graffiti. This painting technique creates subtle tremors and vibrations of color in the viewer’s eye. Bieńko’s works appear as dreamlike visions, where shapes lacking clear contours drift through a misty landscape. The artist deliberately blurs the boundaries between past and present, as well as between the individual and the natural world.More about the Artist
