Grégoire Scalabre continuously pushes the boundaries of material and physical barriers, drawing inspiration from organic architecture. By combining thousands of small ceramic pieces, he creates monumental organic shapes.
Scalabre began his artistic journey at Atelier du Sage de Dieulefit in France before furthering his studies at the École Agir Céramique. His impactful artworks have been showcased at various esteemed venues such as the Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire, Modern Shapes Gallery in Antwerp, Nec Gallery in Paris, the 2021 Venice Biennale, and Art Basel in 2022. The Musée des Arts Décoratifs of Paris has even acquired one of his pieces for their permanent collection of contemporary ceramics. Additionally, Scalabre has been honored with the prestigious “L’intelligence de la main” (the Ingenuity of the Hand) award from the Liliane Bettencourt Foundation.
