The “Painting It Black” series conveys a fatalistic vision of the end, permeated with pessimism yet not implying resignation from taking action. In this work, Bartek Kokosiński addresses humanity’s illusion of control over the elements. The artist highlights that in our attempts to dominate nature, we continually play with fire. As a result, we leave behind a desolate reality characterized by sadness, apathy, and the scent of gasoline.
